A BAD Week 12: Everything Bill and Doug wrote and said leading into Ohio State vs. UCLA, in case you missed it
Catching up on coverage of the Buckeyes vs. the Bruins
COLUMBUS — It’s Ohio State’s third home night game of the season on Saturday against UCLA, and it’s the latest in the calendar a regular-season night game has ever been played at Ohio Stadium.
Ohio State’s last home game of the regular season next week against Rutgers will kick off either at noon, 3:30 or 4 p.m.
So far this season, Ohio State has played two home games at noon, one at 3:30 and three in primetime.
Last season, the home games were five at noon, two at 3:30 and one in primetime.
In 2023, the start times were three at noon, two in mid-afternoon and one at night.
The 2022 season was the last to have three regular-season home night games, with four at noon, one at 3:30 and three at night.
We’ll see you after the game Saturday night. Bill and I will both be at the game and planning to bring you a live postgame show on YouTube around 20 minutes after the clock hits zero. That will give us time to check out the Ryan Day postgame in person and then get back upstairs for the show.
Here’s everything we wrote and said this week to get ready for Week 12.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — First thoughts on Ohio State’s 34-10 win on Saturday at Purdue.
SUNDAY
Ohio State has two games to find 'the best guys' on its inconsistent offensive line
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The screen pass Ohio State called on its opening drive in the third quarter of Saturday’s game against Purdue should’ve been a touchdown. The Buckeyes don’t call running back screens often. This one, to James Peoples, called just inside the red zone at the 18-yard line, seemed to catch the Boilermakers off guard.

Does Ohio State's recruiting uptick tell us something about a new strategy?
COLUMBUS — June and July around here usually come with their share of booms. We’re not talking about Fourth of July fireworks. Though those are fun, too. No, we’re talking recruiting booms. Ohio State lands a prospect. The staff gets to tweeting, flooding social media feeds with various iterations of their signal that the Buckeyes got another one.
