COLUMBUS — Ohio State had 25 players picked in the last two NFL Drafts. No team had more. As the Buckeyes stack talent better than any college football team in the country, should the Buckeyes be doing even more winning on the field?
That’s the discussion on the latest edition of The Bill and Doug Show, as Doug and Bill went live at noon Saturday and now offer this recording for anyone who missed it. Doug wrote about this idea on Sunday, and now it’s time to chop it up and answer six primary questions.
Are we surprised Ohio State is acquiring and developing talent this well? It’s better than under Urban Meyer and maybe we thought there would be a drop off.
Do we think this level of talent acquisition and development will continue?
Is this even a worthy conversation? They did win the natty two years ago.
If the talent is elite, what hasn’t been quite as good then? Coaching? Culture? Mental/emotional prep?
Is it reasonable given this talent to expect a truly dominant season or a mini dynasty?
Is it possible that NFL talent is not the best indicator of super teams? Like the way the Buckeyes have won their national titles without first-round draft picks at quarterback.
