COLUMBUS — Jim Knowles’ first steps inside Ohio Stadium for the first time as an opposing coach were met with … nothing.
I anticipated there being a gaggle of Buckeye fans there waiting to welcome their former defensive coordinator, the one who spurned the defending national champs for more money at a conference rival, with a showering of boos — or at least an indication that this place isn’t quite as friendly when you’re on the wrong side. Not long ago, Knowles would go through OSU’s pregame walk into The Shoe clad in a suit, raise a fist in the air, and get a reaction from fans. Not today, bub. Today, you’re getting booed.
