COLUMBUS — Ohio State’s 2025 defense, one of the best in the country, was hit hard by NFL draft departures. So it was always going to look vastly different heading into 2026. Add in all of the Buckeyes’ transfer movement, and that picture has transformed more than anyone anticipated.

Below is an updated depth chart projection, comparing how we thought things would look pre-portal to how they look now — after OSU was active with transfers on the defensive side of the ball — along with a few thoughts on which projection is better for the Buckeyes. New transfer additions will be italicized.
