Ohio State cornerbacks vs. Michigan WR Andrew Marsh: The Game Matchups
Jermaine Mathews and Davison Igbinosun are ready to deal with a Wolverine freshman who might be Michigan's best receiver in a decade.

COLUMBUS — Continuing our look at key matchups in Ohio State vs. Michigan as we prepare for Saturday’s showdown between the No. 1 Buckeyes and No. 15 Wolverines.
Ohio State CBs Davison Igbinosun and Jermaine Mathews vs. Michigan WR Andrew Marsh
Who Igbinosun and Mathews are
Igbinosun is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior and Mathews is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound junior. Igbinosun will be making his 51st career start Saturday after starting for a year at Ole Miss before transferring to Ohio State and earning a job from the moment he arrived. Mathews will be making his 14th career start. Igbinosun plays outside corner, while Mathews plays mostly outside but slides into the slot on obvious third-and-long passing downs. He also started in the slot earlier this season when Lorenzo Styles Jr. was injured. Styles hurt his shoulder last week and left the game, but he’s been practicing this week and we anticipate he’ll play, leaving Mathews in his usual role.
What Igbinosun and Mathews do
Nobody has thrown on these guys. Ohio State allows 127 passing yards per game, best in the nation. Luke Altmyer of Illinois is the only quarterback to top 200 yards against the Buckeyes, and five passing attacks failed to reach 100 yards against Ohio State. Marsh is 11th in the Big Ten in receiving yards per game and Ohio State has faced four receivers ahead of him.
K.J. Duff of Rutgers, 87 yards per game: 2 catches for 34 yards vs. Ohio State
Ian Strong of Rutgers, 81 yards per game: 1 catch for 9 yards vs. Ohio State
Hank Beatty of Illinois, 73 yards per game: 7 catches for 48 yards vs. Ohio State
Denzel Boston of Washington, 73 yards per game: 3 catches for 36 yards vs. Ohio State
