Ohio State mailbag: Is David Gabriel Georges worth the money? Ideal coaching staff?

COLUMBUS — I had the itch to answer some of your Ohio State football questions in writing. So here’s a batch of them on surprise breakout players, the dynamics at play in OSU’s secondary, the ideal OSU coaching staff of the 21st century and the recruitment of running back David Gabriel Georges.
Let’s get to it.
Michelangelo: Who is the guy we aren’t talking about right now who has the best chance to be a dude or a huge contributor in 2026? We all know half the guys the coaches bring up don’t end up being a guy. Who are we missing or should keep an eye on?
These are always tough questions to answer because I feel like we discuss the roster so comprehensively throughout the offseason that by the time we get to August, there really isn’t anyone flying under the radar.
I’ll go with second-year defensive end Epi Sitanilei. He was listed at 239 pounds on the spring roster. Seeing him walking around the Woody this summer, I’d say he’s at least 260 pounds now. I didn’t even recognize him at first, and I like to think I have a pretty good handle on the names and faces of this roster. Sitanilei has been in the back of my mind since last year’s fall camp, when I thought he popped a few times in those first three days, which was especially notable because Sitanilei was a summer enrollee. That flash didn’t translate to playing time as a freshman, but I could see him blossoming this year.
