COLUMBUS — Notes on the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes as they prepare to host Ohio University on Saturday in Ohio Stadium.

Max Klare finding his footing

Ohio State tight ends combined for nine targets, seven catches and two touchdowns in last week’s win against Grambling State. Before the season, you might have guessed that transfer Max Klare would be responsible for much, if not all, of that kind of production in a given game.

Instead, Klare had just one of those catches. He has two in two games and hasn’t yet found the end zone. That’s not necessarily alarming, but it’s an indication that Klare, who finished seventh among Power Four tight ends with 51 receptions at Purdue last year, is still finding his way in Ohio State’s offense.
