First thoughts on Ohio State’s offense following the Buckeyes’ 42-3 win against Minnesota on Saturday night in Ohio Stadium.

Explosive plays hit early

Ohio State’s offense wasn’t consistently explosive in either of its two games against Power Four competition, Texas and Washington — though the Buckeyes did come into Saturday with nine plays of 40 yards or more, tied for fifth-most in the country. After doing most of that damage against lesser competition, the offense unleashed some big plays against a Big Ten opponent.
