Ohio State QB Julian Sayin growing in confidence (and growing a mustache) as he enters year three
Sayin spoke about his offseason training and where he'd like to improve in 2026 after Ohio State's second spring practice.
COLUMBUS — Julian Sayin broke down his Ohio State teammates following a pre-practice speech from head coach Ryan Day on Thursday. Sayin punctuated his quick remarks with a simple message for his fellow Buckeyes.
“Go out there and be an F-in dog today,” he said, uncensored, loud enough for the media standing on the sideline to hear it.
Sayin has been noticeably louder through Ohio State’s first two spring practices, both of which were partially open to the media. His cadences echo off the walls of the indoor practice facility in ways they didn’t last year. He’s talking with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith between plays. He’s talking more with his teammates to make sure the offense stays on the same page. He’s talking. He’s dropping f-bombs in front of everybody to get them fired up before another day of work.
It’s all intentional.
“I’m just trying to step up into the leadership role more,” Sayin said. “Throughout the facility, I’m trying to be a better leader.”
