Ryan Day said postgame that they wanted to put more on Sayin’s plate. The starting quarterback ran 32 plays in the first half while the Buckeyes ran out to a 35-0 lead. One week after running the ball more than 60 percent of the time, the offense threw it 63 percent of the time with the starters in the game against Grambling.
Sayin was nearly flawless. Technically, the ball never hit the ground. He completed 18 passes. His lone incompletion was an interception. His only other dropback resulted in a scramble for no yards.
