COLUMBUS — Additional thoughts on Ohio State’s 34-0 win against Wisconsin after rewatching the game.
Note: This is going to be all about the offense. Not to take away from the Buckeye defense, and nobody should ever take a shutout for granted, but Wisconsin is the worst FBS offense OSU will face this year. I want to give the defense its flowers in a separate story, and will do so between now and the Penn State game. Promise.
A new path forward for the offense?
It’s always difficult to tell these things. Ohio State had thrown a lot out on the field through its first six games, formationally, conceptually and with personnel groupings. The game against Wisconsin felt a little more streamlined.
Ryan Day said after the win against Illinois two weeks ago that it was about time to start focusing in on the things the offense does well, and getting away from the things that haven’t been as clean. Taking those comments into consideration, you could look at the plan against Wisconsin as Ohio State’s new path forward on offense.
