COLUMBUS — Ohio State beat Kent State 59-3 on Saturday. Kent State will be in the running for the worst team in the FBS this year. So you can only take so much from a game like this, and the bad tends to outshine the good when you’re looking for things that may actually apply to tougher games down the road.

Folks were fired up about short yardage after the game because the Buckeyes made a few blunders that either cut drives short or made touchdown drives harder than they needed to be.

“We stumbled around on those two drives in the red zone, and then in short yardage,” head coach Ryan Day said afterward.
