Ohio State's offensive line room is as healthy as its been in 10 years

Center Carson Hinzman and tackle Ian Moore are part of a deep Ohio State offensive line in 2025.

COLUMBUS — I do this thing at the outset of every Ohio State camp, when we’re usually permitted to watch a couple of early practices, where I take inventory of every player on the offensive line who looks like he could conceivably one day play meaningful snaps for the Buckeyes.

It’s an admittedly inexact science based on physical transformations, whatever assessment of skills we’re able to glean from the competitive periods of practice, and how people are talking about players. Vibes play a part. You watch a guy go through some reps. How did he make you feel? Can he actually play here?

Watch enough Ohio State football. You know what those guys look like.

It’s most fair to remove freshmen from the equation. Everyone else factors in.

When I watched Ohio State’s offensive line go through the paces during the first three practices of this camp, I thought it was the best-looking offensive line room Ohio State has had in my time covering the team (since 2014). Now, a room is different than a starting five. I’m not crowning this offensive line the best one I’ve seen. That title is still held by either the 2014/15 group or the 2019 group (with a tip of the cap to what 2024’s group accomplished amid a rash of injuries).
