Ohio State's unusual Senior Day, and should the Buckeyes tweak who gets honored? Plus, the award we should create: Doug Rants
Ten thoughts on Ohio State football.

Ten thoughts on Ohio State football as the Buckeyes prepare to host Rutgers in Ohio Stadium for Senior Day on Saturday.
Defensive end Caden Curry and his fellow members of Ohio State’s 2022 recruiting class were talking in the locker room this week about their time together as they prepare for Senior Day on Saturday. It wasn’t a very large conversation.
There are only seven of them left. Fourteen are gone.
“It’s definitely crazy,” Curry said. “We came in with so many guys and there was just such a strong brotherhood that we created in the beginning, and they all left.”
From that 21-player class, offensive lineman Avery Henry was diagnosed with cancer and retired from football. He remains a student at Ohio State.
Seven remain on the team, with five of them starting: Curry, fellow defensive end Kenyatta Jackson, linebacker Sonny Styles, center Carson Hinzman and right guard Tegra Tshabola. Tight end Bennett Christian plays situationally, and defensive end C.J. Hicks is redshirting.
Only Curry and Styles are out of eligibility and will have their moments Saturday running out of the tunnel for Senior Day. The other five could return next year.
Thirteen others transferred. Five did it after three seasons in Columbus, six left after two years, and two left after a single season.
“They all had the best interest for themselves and we still talk to all those guys today,” Curry said. “They’re all doing great. They’re all getting to play football, and that’s what they wanted to do at the end of the day, and I’m happy for them.
“It’s definitely crazy and bizarre that our class has shrunk down to just seven now.”
