Ranking Ohio State's top-10 2027 recruiting targets, in order of importance
Official visits start this weekend. Here are the the most important remaining targets for the Buckeyes in the 2027 recruiting class.
COLUMBUS — Official visits for high school football prospects in the Class of 2027 kick off this weekend, which means Ohio State will start hosting players it hopes can round out a class that currently ranks No. 6 in the country, per the Rivals industry ratings.

The Buckeyes have 13 commitments right now. The exact size of the class seems likely to land in the low 20s — almost certainly not as large as the 28-man class that was signed in 2026. Things are off to a good start, but there are still some major targets out there that Ohio State has prioritized, and needs to land.
Ahead of what should be a frenzied month of June, we’re ranking Ohio State’s top-10 remaining targets in this class, in order of importance.
1. RB David Gabriel-Georges
Ohio State made sure there was no confusion as to who its top remaining target is when it sent the entire offensive staff to visit Georges, a five-star prospect who plays in Tennessee but is from Canada, earlier this spring. I don’t think I’ve ever seen OSU do that with a prospect before. It’s a rare kind of “all-in” approach as the Buckeyes look to add a real difference-maker at running back this cycle. Ohio State hasn’t signed a five-star running back since TreVeyon Henderson in 2021. He’ll be on campus for his official visit this weekend, as the Buckeyes look to beat Tennessee, Ole Miss and Georgia.
