What Day said on the first day of spring ball

COLUMBUS — Four thoughts on what we heard from Ohio State head coach Ryan Day on Tuesday following the Buckeyes’ first spring football practice.
1. This was the second time Day has done an extended interview since the loss to Miami in the Cotton Bowl back in late December. The other was a radio chat with 97.1 The Fan in Columbus over a month ago, in which Day described freshman running back/receiver Legend Bey as a “poor man’s Tyreek Hill,” comparing Bey to the speedy NFL gadget player, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.
With a chance to walk that back on Tuesday, Day instead compared Bey to another, more familiar, yet similarly dynamic and versatile player.
“I wasn’t here with Curtis Samuel, but I watched a lot of film when he was here,” Day said. “(Bey) kinda reminds me of that style of player.”
