COLUMBUS — Breaking down a couple of things we heard from Ryan Day during his Tuesday news conference at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

1. We’ll start with some player updates, per usual.

Day said receiver Kyle Parker, who hasn't appeared in a game despite being off the injured list the past two weeks, will be back this week against Maryland.

Offensive tackle Phillip Daniels has missed the last three games and will be limited again in practice this week. Day said the staff hasn’t made any decisions yet on what to do with its starting offensive line once Daniels is full-go again.

Day wasn't asked about freshman defensive back Jay Timmons. He was listed as a game-time decision last week against Iowa and then didn’t play.

2. Which brings us to the curious absence of freshman edge Khary Wilder last week, and the continuing absence of freshman running back Legend Bey.
