COLUMBUS — Quick reactions to Ryan Day’s news conference on Tuesday. Here’s the full video and the comments that Bill was leaving in the chat as Day talked.
Day said he expects the young guys to get into the mix more and more and the season moves on

Day said there wasn’t enough rhythm in the passing game in the second half. Didn’t put it all on Julian, but said he needs to play better. Felt Sayin was sped up at times, but there were also some pass protection busts.
Day said injuries to Phil Daniels and Zion Grady aren’t long term. Left it open that they may not be available this week
Day keep coming back to execution and 2/12 passing in the second half. Feels like he thinks a lot of this falls on Julian Sayin.
On the early second half punt, “It’s hard for me to say that’s a good decision when the ball is on the 15-yard line.” Said he believes in Joe McGuire, but that needs to be effective “or we have to make some different decisions.”

Bill, I think you’re the best analyst in the business and I’m also starting to wonder if there is anything Ryan Day can say that you won’t say is a cop out. If he Came out and said “I run the best program in the country but I screw it up on game day every time” would you say ok, or would you say “it’s inexcusable for a coach to say that without changing it”?
I wish we won every game, but which program is being run better than OSU right now? Indiana maybe, who else?
Feels like everything you and Doug have ever said Ryan Day should do, he’s tried.

How can we develop first and second round NFL talent at nearly every position, yet we can't seem to find or develop talented special teams punters and kickers? This has been a weakness for far too many years and Cam Johnston and Mike Nugent ain't walking through that door.
I realize that it's Coach Discher's first year, but if he hasn't been able to improve the room in the last seven and a half months, then what are we even doing here?
