The Kid Six: Young Buckeyes on both sides of the ball who should play more for Ohio State

Receiver, running back, linebacker and edge rusher could use an influx of young talent.

COLUMBUS — Ohio State needs to look for a Jay Timmons impact at other positions. Timmons, a true freshman, has established himself as the starting slot corner. He played 62 of 80 snaps against Texas on Saturday, seventh among all defenders.

Through two games he leads Ohio State with four missed tackles, according to PFF, but no one cares, because he’s making far more positive plays than negative ones.

He’s a lightning bolt on the field, a burst of play-making energy, and an example of what Ohio State should be searching out at other positions. Maybe a young mistake here or there. But also, quite likely, some impact plays.
