Any one who votes for the Urban era over the Tressel era did not fully experience the Cooper era. I have faint memories of the Bruce era, then my formative years happened with Cooper. Late November was so painful and aggravating. Every single year. Then Tressel comes along, and at first I thought they blew the hire. I was wrong. Then . . . . we just kick Michigan's ass all the time.
Yes, I know they were down, but part of the reason they were down is because they kept looking for magical solutions to the Tress domination. So our kicking their ass contributed to them being down.
I will literally fight anyone that says Tavien should start over Julian this year. That is insanity. (sidenote, I was the guy that told Doug several years ago that I would rather have a second year Kyle McCord over an unknown Will Howard. So don’t listen to me.)
Ha. Yes, I was convinced that year two of McCord would have been better than what I saw from Howard at Kansas State. This was the off-season obviously before Will got to campus. To my credit, Kyle did take a significant jump in year two, albeit against weaker competition at Syracuse.
For me, Tress over Urban because I grew up during the Coop years. After all the years of not getting over the top and then sagging at the end, Tress rescued the program. That hire goes wrong and who knows where we are. From promising that we’ll be proud up at Michigan the next year and then following through to dominating the Big 10 his whole tenure, he re-established the program amongst the big boys and set the stage for Urban to take it to the next level. And that ‘02 team will always be #1 for me.
Co-sign all of this. I would be surprised if any coach surpasses JT in my book. It’s a credit to Day that he could get there. Love his care for the players, something he has in common with Tressel.
I think the 2022 or 2019 questions was really interesting. I voted for the 2022 team as the most disappointing loss because they would have won the Natty for sure. However, a 2019 Ohio State vs LSU may have been the greatest college football game ever played.
Can’t believe my question about “would you rather Michigan be undefeated or winless going into the game?” didn’t make it. Not to toot my own horn but thought that was a slam dunk 50/50 question for buckeye fans and a debate I’ve had with others many times. It’s like on the Mount Rushmore of Ohio state fan debates.
I voted as Clemson more painful but I do think the loss to Georgia was more significant as I have no question we would have won a national championship but that Clemson game I replayed in my mind so many times and it is so hard to get over as well
I'm a JT truther but I need to add the caveat that he needs a good OC. He was way better with Herman and Day than with the 2015/16 braintrust. I think JT with Hartline would've been pretty bad. But JT with Chip or Smith sounds fun. Replace Will Howard with JT and maybe we even win The Game that year given his track record against TTUN.
Not saying he's the best player on the planet, but I'd take a great leader who can be a hammer in short yardage/red zone situations.
Each question is a podcast by itself
My goodness that was stressful
I love knowing a pod is about to be a damn good one soley based off these questions and the responses lol
Right!!! Cannot wait for this pod to drop tomorrow!
I found my heart going one way and my head another for most of these questions…..
At 43 years old I’d rather take the ACT again than answer those with any level of confidence. Can’t wait for this one!
I need to take a walk now.

Some of those were difficult choices

The question asked was about 2027 not this coming season.
I’m sorry, what did you say?

These questions tormented me

Winless for sure (for me)
Same. If a genie offered me world peace or having Michigan go 0-12 every year for decades to come, I would have to seriously think about my answer.

Great questions
