Ohio State football 2027 recruiting class commitment tracker
How the Buckeyes' 2027 recruiting class is coming together
COLUMBUS — Here is where we’ll keep track of Ohio State’s Class of 2027 commitments as they happen. We’ll also post any decommitments/flips that may occur.
Current Rivals class rank: No. 9 national, No. 2 Big Ten
The class by position:
Quarterback: 1
Running back: 0
Receiver: 1
Tight end: 0
Offensive tackle: 1
Interior offensive line: 4
Defensive end: 2
Defensive tackle: 0
Linebacker: 2
Cornerback: 2
Safety: 2
Specialists: 0
Commitments (15)
June 17, 2026: CB Jaden Carey (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)
Stars: 3
Rivals industry rating: No. 462 overall, No. 45 cornerback, No. 39 Florida
High School: St. Thomas Aquinas
Height/weight: 5-foot-11, 175 pounds
Carey made his official visit to Ohio State on June 4, and made his decision two weeks later. The Buckeyes beat out Miami and Auburn for his pledge. He projects as a likely slot corner in Columbus.
June 14, 2026: CB Deontay Malone (Massillon, Ohio)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 269 overall, No. 30 cornerback, No. 11 Ohio
High school: Massillon
Height/weight: 6-foot, 175 pounds
Malone plays receiver and defensive back for his high school team, but the Buckeyes like him as a corner who can play with a lot of speed, and presumably some decent ball skills. Malone could also be a special teams factor down the road as a return man. He’s the first corner commit for Tim Walton in this class.
May 26, 2026: LB Prince Goldsby (Kansas City, Mo.)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 114 overall, No. 9 linebacker, No. 1 Missouri
High school: Blue Springs South
Height/weight: 6-foot-4, 200 pounds
Goldsby is a long, athletic linebacker who can play in the box or on the line of scrimmage as a rush end. He had 13.5 sacks as a junior.
May 17, 2026: DE Wyatt Smith (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 79 overall, No. 11 edge, No. 8 Florida
High school: St. Thomas Aquinas
Height/weight: 6-foot-6, 240 pounds
Ohio State has a strong history of landing players from Aquinas, including the Bosa brothers. The Buckeyes went back there this cycle to land Smith, a productive, athletic edge prospect whose father, Justin, is a former first-round pick who played 14 seasons in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers.
April 27, 2026: iOL Davis Seaman (Columbus, Ohio)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 384 overall, No. 26 interior offensive lineman, No. 13 Ohio
High school: Bishop Watterson
Height/weight: 6-foot-4, 275 pounds
A versatile player from a winning program, Seaman looked like a backyard prospect that Ohio State needed to look down … and it did.
April 17, 2026: OT Jimmy Kalis (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 287 overall, No. 25 offensive tackle, No. 9 Pennsylvania
High school: Central Catholic
Height/weight: 6-foot-7, 290 pounds
The half-brother of former Michigan lineman and one-time Ohio State commitment Kyle Kalis picked the Buckeyes from a top six that also included Georgia, Miami, Texas, LSU and Clemson. Will be a three-year starter at a good high school program who plays with a lot of power. He could be an interior offensive line candidate in the future.
December 29, 2025: DE DJ Jacobs (Roswell, Ga.)
Stars: 5
Rivals industry rating: No. 4 overall, No. 1 edge, No. 1 Georgia
High school: Blessed Trinity Catholic
Height/weight: 6-foot-5, 235 pounds
The Buckeyes made an early splash in the 2027 cycle by landing the top-ranked defensive end prospect in the country, beating Georgia (where Jacobs’ dad played), a bunch of SEC schools and Miami. Don’t expect any of those teams to stop coming after Jacobs until he officially signs with Ohio State.
December 19, 2025: LB Quinton Cypher (Raleigh, N.C.)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 203 overall, No. 20 linebacker, No. 8 North Carolina
High school: Millbrook
Height/weight: 6-foot-2, 215 pounds
The hyper-productive (511 tackles in three high school seasons) linebacker was the top target on the board for position coach James Laurinaitis. Georgia, Clemson, and Duke were among the schools pursuing Cypher when Ohio State landed him.
November 18, 2025: iOL Brody McNeel (Richmond, Va.)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 333 overall, No. 22 interior offensive lineman, No. 6 Virginia
High school: Mills Godwin
Height/weight: 6-foot-5, 285 pounds
The old Penn State staff wanted McNeel, and then offered him again when that staff got to Virginia Tech, this time as an in-state offer. OSU offensive line coach Tyler Bowen was still able to lock down McNeel’s commitment only a few months after offering.
November 15, 2025: SAF Eli Johnson (Cibolo, Texas)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 182 overall, No. 15 safety, No. 26 Texas
High school: Steele
Height/weight: 6-foot-3, 205 pounds
The Buckeyes were in a group of Big Ten programs (Oregon, Michigan) that offered Johnson in the summer after his sophomore year, and then earned the speedy safety’s commitment in the fall.
November 2, 2025: iOL Mason Wilt (St. Clairsville, Ohio)
Stars: 3
Rivals industry rating: No. 486 overall, No. 38 interior offensive lineman, No. 19 Ohio
High school: St. Clairsville
Height/weight: 6-foot-4, 290 pounds
Wilt earned his Ohio State offer shortly after camping in June before his junior season. The Buckeyes liked his tenacity. Penn State, Florida State and West Virginia were among the others after Wilt at the time.
November 2, 2025: iOL Kellen Wymer (Liberty Center, Ohio)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 64 overall, No. 6 offensive tackle, No. 2 Ohio
High school: Liberty Center
Height/weight: 6-foot-5, 270 pounds
Ohio State won a mostly Midwest battle for the top offensive lineman in the state. Wymer is rated as an interior lineman, but has the athleticism to play anywhere on the offensive line, including tackle.
September 21, 2025: SAF Angelo Smith (Hollywood, Fla.)
Stars: 3
Rivals industry rating: No. 741 overall, No. 79 safety, No. 80 Florida
High school: Chaminade-Madonna Prep
Height/weight: 5-foot-8, 167 pounds
The younger brother of Jeremiah Smith is an undersized defensive back prospect, but he plays with good range and could be a nickel option in OSU’s defense.
December 2, 2024: QB Brady Edmunds (Huntington Beach, Calif.)
Stars: 4
Rivals industry rating: No. 214 overall, No. 18 quarterback, No. 18 California
High school: Huntington Beach
Height/weight: 6-foot-5, 235 pounds
The big-armed pocket passer committed to Ohio State early, but schools like UCLA and Northwestern remain in pursuit as the Buckeyes mull their quarterback options.
November 23, 2024: WR Jamier Brown (Sunbury, Ohio)
Stars: 5
Rivals industry rating: No. 20 overall, No. 3 receiver, No. 1 Ohio
High school: Big Walnut
Height/weight: 5-foot-11, 195 pounds
The speedy, in-state receiver was the first player to jump on board in the Class of 2027, and he has thus far stuck with his commitment (and said all of the right things) following the transition from Brian Hartline to Cortez Hankton at receivers coach.

Thanks Bill, this will be very helpful when recruiting ramps up later this year.
One small correction: Davis Seaman — it should be “lock” down, not “look” down
